Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Account details: name, email, phone (optional), university, whether you are a student and your graduation year, and your password (stored only as a one-way hash).

Verification documents: your student ID and, where needed, receipts or documents you upload. These are kept private and shown only to our review staff.

Payment details: your Payder wallet ID, the registered wallet name and balance we are allowed to read, payout bank details you give us, and records of orders, commission, subscriptions and payments. We do not see or store your Payder PIN or card numbers.

Activity: listings, messages, orders, bookings, reports, and technical data such as IP address, device and login events (used for security).

2. Why we use it

To run your account, show listings, connect buyers and sellers, process payments and refunds through Payder, calculate commission and subscriptions, verify students, prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, send service emails and verification codes, and meet legal duties. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace, legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.

3. Who we share it with

Other users see what you choose to publish: your name, listings, university and ratings. Exact addresses are shared only after a booking is accepted. Payder receives what it needs to process payments and wallets. We use service providers for hosting, email, text messages and image storage under contract. We disclose data to the authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Keeping it safe and how long

We use access controls, encryption of sensitive fields, private storage for documents, and audit logs for staff actions. No system is perfectly secure. We keep data while your account is active and afterwards for as long as needed for legal, tax, fraud-prevention and dispute reasons, then delete or anonymise it. Money and order records are kept as the law requires.

5. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict some uses, withdraw consent, and ask for a copy of your data, and you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Contact us through Help & Support in the app; we may need to confirm who you are first. Some data we must keep (for example payment records) cannot be deleted on request.

6. Children

Quadbay is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

7. Cookies and similar tools

The website uses a sign-in cookie and basic storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your cart. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. Changes and contact
